Fringetree Lace Bug

The fringetree lace bug, Leptoypha mutica. Adults are 1/8 inch long and are reddish-brown. Nymphs are oblong, flat and tawny colored.

Common host plants: Fringetree (old man’s beard tree) is the only host plant damaged in Florida.
